Roundnet

Introduction

At NET Sports Hall, there are 6 sand courts on the first floor that can be used for playing roundnet (spikeball). The equipment is included in the sand court rental price. One court can accommodate two roundnet sets at the same time, allowing up to eight people to play.

Roundnet has become more widely known under the name spikeball, but the official name of the sport is still roundnet. Roundnet is a fast-paced and fun team ball game that is suitable for players of all ages and skill levels.
Roundnet is played around a circular net frame with four players (two versus two). The objective is to hit the ball onto the net in such a way that the opposing team cannot successfully return it.
The serve is made from a designated zone behind the net, and the server must hit the ball onto the net. After the serve, each team is allowed up to three touches (similar to volleyball) before returning the ball to the net. Touches can be made with any part of the body, but a single player may not touch the ball twice in a row.
After each hit, the ball can move in any direction—players are not restricted to specific sides of the court and are free to move around the net. A point is scored when the opposing team fails to return the ball onto the net or hits it directly onto the ground.

The general rules of the game state that roundnet is played on grass, but for recreational players it is much more fun and safer to play on sand.
